Voice of Youth urges VC Cluster University to end the ongoing semesters and give all enrolled students passing remarks, as a response to the academic uncertainties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman Voice of Youth Khubaib Mir said, Given the uncertainty of how long will this crisis last, our call is to end the ongoing semester and proceed with the mass promotion of all students in the University. Moreover, ending the semester is an expression of how the university puts a premium on the health of its community. It manifests a proactive move towards keeping the physical and mental health of its faculty, students, and staff.
The crisis makes no exemptions. Students stand on the same side as everyone on the receiving end of financial, psychological, and emotional stress brought about by the pandemic. To add academic stress to the pile would only make for a burden even more difficult to bear, giving passing remarks are the ‘most practical and beneficial thing to do’ for the overall safety and welfare of the students. ” Khubaib Mir said.
We had received a various calls and messages from the Students of Cluster University regarding the same and they want us to convey this message to the authorities and University Administration. So, Voice of Youth in unity with their local college councils, to heave the call to end the semester to their chancellor.
In view of COVID-19 pandemic, recently Kashmir University has also decided that there will be no end term exams for the current semester and the previous semesters where exams were due during the lockdown period. The students will be promoted to the next semester based on internal assessment in tune with UGC guidelines. “And Union HRD Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal also ordered the same” said, Khubaib Mir.
Vice Chairman Hameem Kapra said the authorities of Cluster University should consider the appeal of students and announce the end of current semester and students to be promoted to the next semester based on internal assessments. The University Authority should not delay the decision as timely action can prove fruitful for students.
